Project Update from Hermione Homes

One of the most enjoyable parts of developing and renovating properties is watching a vision gradually become reality. This week has been especially exciting as we've spent time climbing the scaffolding, moving up and down ladders, and seeing our latest loft conversion and extension take shape before our eyes.

Planning the Finishing Touches

We are in Wimbledon, the heart of world tennis. Before the walls are closed and the rooms are complete, every detail matters. We've been carefully selecting flooring and carpet finishes to create a contemporary, neutral look throughout the property. The bathroom design has now been finalised, featuring elegant stone-effect flooring, crisp subway tiles, and modern fixtures that will create a timeless and practical space. We were also delighted to see one of the newly installed windows in place, already bringing much more natural light into the home.

The New Loft Space Taking Shape

Standing inside the loft and seeing the timber framework emerge is a fantastic feeling. The structural work is progressing beautifully, with the new walls, floor layout and room divisions now clearly visible. What was once an empty roof space is quickly becoming a bright and spacious living area.

The Future Master Bedroom

One of the most exciting features of this project is the new master bedroom. The large window openings now framed into position give a real sense of scale and show just how much natural light this room will enjoy. The space is being designed to feel airy, luxurious and practical, with room for a dedicated study corner, generous storage and even a comfortable armchair for relaxing with a book.

The journey hasn't been without its challenges. During the roof works we discovered that additional repairs were needed. One chimney had to be carefully dismantled and extensive repointing carried out to ensure the structure remains sound for decades to come. While unexpected works can arise on renovation projects, addressing them properly is what ensures a high-quality final result.

The reward for all that effort? A beautiful new roof design complete with stunning skylights. Three large Velux windows will flood the master bedroom with natural light, transforming the loft into one of the most attractive spaces in the house.

Every week brings visible progress, and it's incredibly satisfying to watch the transformation unfold. We can't wait to share the next stage of this project with you.
