The original bathroom had seen better days. A bulky box under the sink concealed unsightly pipes, and the shower cabin’s waste system needed an upgrade. The basin cabinet was worn out, and the overall look was far from inspiring.
Key Changes
1. Concealing the Pipes
We started by removing the box under the sink. Instead of hiding the pipes, we rerouted them inside the wall. This not only improved the aesthetics but also created more space under the sink.
2. Upgrading the Shower Cabin Waste
The old waste system was inefficient and prone to clogs. We replaced it with a modern, efficient solution. Now, water drains smoothly, ensuring a hassle-free shower experience.
3. Basin Cabinet Repair and Repainting
The basin cabinet received some much-needed attention. We repaired any damage and repainted it in a sophisticated Charleston Grey shade. The colour harmonized beautifully with the existing wall tiles.
4. New Flooring
To protect the floor from moisture and spills, we installed an underlay beneath the new flooring. The choice of flooring was crucial—it had to complement the existing wall tiles. We opted for a graphite-coloured floor that seamlessly blended with the mosaic pattern on the walls.
5. Skirting and Window Area
To modernize the look further, we added an extra layer of floor tiles as skirting. This subtle detail tied everything together. Additionally, we extended the same flooring under the window, creating a cohesive design.
The Contemporary Result
Loft Bathroom After Refurbishment
The transformation was astounding! The graphite floor colour echoed the grey coffee hue of the basin cabinet, creating a harmonious palette. The lighter cabinet colour added a touch of modernity, making the bathroom feel fresh and inviting. Have a look at these before and after pictures:
